A unique Antique Edwardian Suffragette lavaliere necklace set with purple, green and white Paste Stones with an unusual pendant fitted with a lovely swinging dropper.
Suffragette jewellery was worn to show one’s allegiance to the women’s Suffragette movement in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Purple, Green and White stones which symbolised: Purple for Loyalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope.
Paste is a transparent flint glass that is cut to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The purple Pastes have the deep violet hue of Amethysts and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
The piece is all Silver and has been lengthened by a length of chain at the back which is fitted to a secure box clasp.
